  COMEON JUST PLZ CHECK IT OUT .ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS RANKINGS.BETTER VISIT EVERY NIT .AND MOST IMPORTANTLY IT IS NOT ALWZ TRUE THAT EVERY COLLGE IN SOUTH IS GOOD. AND TOPS IN RANKING.FOR A SUGGESTION VISIT NIT JALANDHAR I M HERE A ECE STUDENT.

  @dark lord:WHAT YOU SAID IS NOT TRUE…THERE ARE NO SUCH VIOLENCE IN JADAVPUR UNIVERSITY AT PRESENT..and it deserves a rank in the top 20s

  Anyway i will just name few of the companies that have already visited the campus this year..ADOBE,AMAZON,TEXAS INSTRUMENTS,DELOITTE,TATA MOTRS,MARUTI,IOCL,BPCL

  want any more names??…there are plenty

  last year one student went to Stanford for higher studies and there are many students in the top 20 US colleges.One of my last year senior is at IISC.He stood first in GATE 2009

  To All plz dont listen to crap about JU its not in such soup as described by that “dark lord”.Yes there are rooms for improvement,it dosnt promote itself etc..but it is certainly after the top IITs,BITS Pilani,NIT T & K.

  U can google for reliable sources to gather info.

  Folks,

  So much acid over rankings! I agree that these polls do not talk much. I mean if you go to a poll of Business Today or Business India or India Today or some other mag, all will have different ratings.
  While money may be behind these ratings (I am sure govet colleges like IIT/NIT wont be paying ), the methodology itself is sometimes questionable.

  Fact is that irrespective of what you feel and say about your respective college, IITs and NITs form the top cream. Obviously not all NITs come to take top honours and good colleges like DCE, PEC would also come to top if they agree to participate. Please note that these ratings are ONLY for colleges which have agreed to participate in rankings, else BITS Pilani should have definitely been there.

  IITs are definitely the cream, for the fact that their entrance exam only permits the best brains to get in.

  Some state colleges are good but they take a back seat in national surveys because of lack of awareness and more important, they not having a pan-indian culture. However, there are cases where state collesges score over the respective NIT of that state. COEP being an example, though the advantage is because of Pune being a city that it is.

  So, I suggest, rather than throwing acids over each other, get the facts and perceptions straight. Rather than believing above rankings to get jubiliant or unhappy, check out the facts yourself!

  Well !!! Junat know the truth. No need to spit the beans. Just answer a simple question.
  Have u seen any VITian being CMD/CEO or president of any recongnisable companies.
  IITians & Most NITians rule the top notch place. Above all, the level of students entering into VIT has no match with those getting into IITs/NITs

  IIT roorke gives jobs to nit rourkela doesnt make iit better……..infact their students tach u…..what say???

  guys, vit definitely has a shiny prospectus and gud campus
  i donts know if it has the same level as nit wrngl and trichy as far as education goes

  anyways, lets wait for the 2010 ranking n see how much mny vit has… if it dint giv all of it 2 India Today already, that is//

  and vitians
  just bcoz u passed out of it and got gud jobs doesnt mean it is better college than nit trichy,w etc.
  these have been around even b4 ur fathers were born…
  sure urs might be a gud collg
  but not better than them
  but these are govt colleges who dont worry about rankings…
  n dont pay magazines lyk ur collg does
