A partial list of new engineering colleges that may admit undergraduate students in the upcoming Orissa/BPUT JEE Counseling

The following list is compiled by reader Parashar Das from the various advertisements in Orissa newspapers. The final list should come out before the counseling for engineering starts on 24th July 2009.

It is not clear how many of the above have received AICTE approval so far.

In addition the Orissa government had announced two new government engineering colleges in Berhampur and Bhawanipatna. It is not known if they will be starting this year and take students this year. My guess is probably not. But I could be wrong.

    sir,its heard that iiit bhubaneshwar will allocate all its seats through ojee,…but will it also take admissions through 15% aieee quota thats in ojee.???????

    This list is misleading as it only considers the last rank. Also, where is UCE Burla in the list?

    Sir,
    The institute mentioned in the above post claims to be approved by AICTE.Moreover this fact is further supported by the list issued by AICTE in thier official site.

    Four other colleges find there name in the list are
    Rahul Institute of Engineering & Technology,Berhampur
    Srinix college of Engineering,Balasore
    Hi-tech College of Engineering,Bhubaneswar
    Xavier Institute of Technology,Bhubaneswar

    However the list is silent about IIIT,Bhubaneswar & Bhubaneswar Institue of Technology

    BIT received AICTE approval in 2008. That is why it is not in the list you gave. IIIT probably got the approval after that list was made.

    How did you find that link. I was looking for such a link but could not get there.
    The list that has BIT is reachable from http://www.aicte.ernet.in/download/link/Extension_of_Approval09-10.doc . I think I followed that link and reached a list which had BIT.

    this year about 28 engineering colleges have been approved by the AICTE

    One such college is Rourkela Institute of Technology,Kuarmaunda,Rourkela

    Sir, i am sorry about the VSSUT.
    but i have not placed it in the list because i think it might not take admission this year as this is now deemed.
    But, VSSUT is no 1 always.
    I also left out BIT, it was also got its approval last year

    No problem. A good way to rank would be to compare when the first two branches in any college end. I had used that method earlier. That way just because a college has an unpopular branch (say textile in CET) its rank does not go down.

    sir, the state government announced two engineering colleges last year at Berhampur and Bhawanipatna. But, non of these is present in the AICTE list of Engineering Collegs for orissa. so, whether there is any chance of these two collges admiting students this year? Or this list is only a provisional one with the actual number of engineering colleges higher than the given list.

    My guess is the govt. colleges in Berhampur and Bhawanipatna will not start this year. But I may be wrong. The correct list will be posted in BPUT JEE website in a few days.

    i have aieee rank 127312 and ojee rank 8083 so sir please tell me that out of the 2 counsiling i.e. Orissa jee aieee counsiling for 15 % of seats or orissa jee counsiling In which i have chances of getting good colleges of orissa and please name them . Sir please help me its urgent

    Some days back BPUT STUDENTS UNION(BSU) had made a ranking of engineering colleges…the link is

    But, i think sir that list will completely mislead the students at OJEE counselling.
    You must check that list sir.
    And i am requesting you to make a ranking of colleges as you have made it in the last year.
    Because most of the students follow this site and this site can never mislead the students.

    can u plz tell me why iiit bbsr is a better option than cet?
    Seeing the webpage of iiit and cet ,the faculty seems to be more qualified in cet.

    You are right. From the current faculty list in their web pages, CET faculty is more qualified than IIIT. But down the road, say in 5 years, I would guess that IIIT BBSR would be more recognized than CET. But that is just a guess.

    Please students go through this Blog you find the college condition.
    this is a bad college in orissa, The college is not able to provide water to the students, if parents blame then then the college administrator said you take your son/daughter from the college
