I don’t understand the logic behind govt approving so many private engg colleges across the capital city. This should be discouraged. As the land across bhubaneswar is so precious, that should be preserved for national level institutes and national bodies. Also so many institutes around bbsr will bring much unnecessary population to the city which will create accomodation and traffic problems going forward. Unless it’s planned from now, it’ll create bigger problem in future.

    Thanks
    Ranjan

No point of opening any new colleges for engg after last year disaster when more than 10000 seats remained vacant.Opening up more number of engg colleges is sounding just a business. The quality has been compromised.Leaving a handful of engg colleges in the state no colleges are upto the mark.Govt should discourage this move and rather should encourage opening up new colleges in other fields..such as MBA,Biotech,Mass comm.,MS and etc.

Tamilnadu does not have any age restriction. Orissa may consider that approach to fill its Engineering seats. That may not fill many seats though.

    Ya very true

Even last year around 10 thousand seats remain vacant. even after that 7thousand seats were increased this year.this year also less than 25thousand students have registered in counselling out of 37 thousand seats. this year also more number of seats will remain vacant.

to me it is surprise how such huge investment is made in engineering colleges. It seems me fishy and if investigation would be made then source of money could be ascertained. Apart from that where a college comes immediately the land price around that area rises and the main reason of rising of house rent is bbsr is of engineering college students. Because no big corporation or companies in bssr for which the rent have increased so high.

My opinion will be that people should stop investing in engineering colleges and if not the students will start rejecting colleges which in turn will perish automatically as it has already witnessed now.

yes mr ranjan nayak you are absolutely correct. The Pvt Engg colleges shoud open their institutions in backward area like KBk or other parts of odisha. the land surrounding BBsr must be reserve for National institution like IIM , NIPER, NID Etc.
