Sanjay Memorial Trust plans a medical college in the Berhampur area

This trust already has several educational institutions in the Berhampur area; the main one being the SMIT Degree Engineering College. Following is an article from Dharitri about their intention to start a medical college.

The state CM laid foundation stone for a medical college by Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham near Gopalpur and 30 acres of land was also allocated but there is no progress afterwards. Earlier the Satyasai trust and Hitech groups also proposed Medical colleges in Berhampur but no progress thereafter. The state govt must encourage the pvt medical colleges in a big way as people in south odisha are preferring Vizag as the destination in the absence of quality healthcare.
