I came across this Allahbad bank site about education loans. They give loans up to 4 lakhs without any collateral security to students of a selected list of colleges/institutes. The current list includes four Orissa institutes. They are:

  • AMITY Bhubaneshwar
  • XIM Bhubneswhwar
  • Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT)

XIMB’s forway into satellite based management programs

Update: Business Standard also has a nice story on this.

The Hindu reports that XIM Bhubaneswar will be signing an MOU with NIS SPARTA, a Reliance Dihrubhai Anil Ambani company, on this. It says:

“Xavier Institute of Management Bhubaneswar and NIS Sparta, a Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group Company, will sign a MoU to promote satellite based management programmes in Bhubaneswar on Monday.”

(Thanks to Deba Nayak for the pointer.)

XIM plans to roll out new courses in econometrics, financial modelling and regulatory finance.

Business standard reports on XIM’s future plans. Following is an excerpt:

At the Xavier’s Institute of Management, Bhubaneshwar, the fresh batch will start on June 15. The institute has got an All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) approval to all its programmes and has thus decided to roll out new courses in econometrics, financial modelling and regulatory finance.

The institute will also start fresh courses in executive development programme through satellite training.

This academic year is significant to us as we got all our programmes approved by AICTE. We will be rolling out many more courses and will also be recruiting new faculty members this year, said Brijraj Mohanty, acting dean, XIM-B. XIM-B is also looking for a new campus in Orissa.

XIM (Xaviers Institute of Management) plans a second campus in Orissa

Update: Telegraph also reports on this.

Business Standard reports that XIM, Bhubaneswar is about to open another campus in Orissa. XIM is scouting for 100 acres of land and has a budget of 50 crores for the second campus. It has applied to AICTE for doubling its capacity. There is no definite word regarding where the second campus will be, but there were some early rumors that it could be near Dhenkanal. If it indeed opens near Dhenkanal, then it will be a big addition to Dhenkanal’s higher education offerings. Currently, Dhenkanal has the branch campus of Indian Institute of Mass Communication. With an XIM campus it will get into the national consciousness as both XIM and IIMC admit students through national level entrance examinations.
