Speaking of investments, now that India got the clearance for international nuclear commerce from the NSG, Orissa is going to be home to one of the four coastal mega nuclear parks planned by DAE. Each cluster will generate a whopping 8,000 MW of electricity, although initially it will be 2,000 MW.

Global reactor biggies hope for Indian nuke business

This is interesting news:

Orissa claims no 1 spot in investment

According to the above Times of India article, Odisha Government claims that the state is No. 1 is investments, even ahead of Gujarat and Maharashtra. Odisha's total investment is Rs 5,99,181 crore!

Further, the investment seems to be diverse, not entirely mineral based: aluminium, airport, mines, port, energy, steel, railway and tourism.
