Following is an excerpt from a report in Statesman on this.
Pantaloons Retail (India) Limited (PRIL) today inaugurated its first Pantaloons outlet in the capital city. Spread over 58,000 square feet area, the store adds a new dimension to life style retailing and houses a range of Pantaloons brands like John Miller, Lombard, Urbana, RIG and UMM.
… The store will have all of its popular sections like sportswear, ladies cosmetics, perfumes, accessories, handbags and toys.

Multiple shop-in-shop outlets as “eZone” electronics section, “Depot” section for books, music, gifts and stationery, “Planet Sports” for sportswear, “Blue Sky” for watches and sun glasses, “Wellnes?”, “aLL” for plus size people and the “Food Bazaar”. …
Head of operations (East) Sandeep Marwah said the store would primarily cater to the middle and upper middle class segments while its sister unit “Big Bazaar” has been branded as a common man’s mall. There would not be any clash of interests among the two retail stores of one company as both have different consumer targets and showcase entirely different product ranges, he observed.

It’s really nice to have a big store like Pantaloons in Bhubaneswar.But what’s there for Cuttack?Cuttack is a potential market and it’s sad that we do not have a good mall there and even if Reliance Fresh was likely to get opened,people opposed it…
Looking forward to have some good malls in all across Orissa and not just in Bhubaneswar..

After Big Bazar, Pantaloons,Reliance Digital,Spencer’s Plaza,Cafe Coffee Day & Subhiksha Retail are likely to spread wings in Cuttack.
People are also talking about multiplex and amusement parks to come up in the Old jail complex.

its gr8///////// dat spencer opened it shop in bhubaneswar, but the retail format in orissa is growing in a snail pace. and the lacune of multiplex’s hurts a lot.. so there is a much need of a multiplex in orissa. and dis mall format should not be confined in bbsr and ctc should in other parts orissa too…
