{"id":3683,"date":"2010-06-22T18:40:08","date_gmt":"2010-06-22T22:40:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.orissalinks.com\/orissagrowth\/?p=3683"},"modified":"2010-06-22T18:44:17","modified_gmt":"2010-06-22T22:44:17","slug":"kendrapada-pursues-industry-and-may-taste-its-first-success","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.orissalinks.com\/orissagrowth\/archives\/3683","title":{"rendered":"Kendrapada pursues industry and may taste its first success"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Following is an excerpt from <a target=\"_self\" href=\"http:\/\/www.tathya.in\/news\/story.asp?sno=4228\">a report in tathya.in<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Jay Panda is very happy today. <\/p>\n<p>Member of Parliament from Kendrapara is in high spirits because finally the NO-Industry District, Kendrapara will have a major power plant. <\/p>\n<p>Thanks to the initiative of SPI Ports Private Limited (SPIPPL), a Tamil Nadu based conglomerate. <\/p>\n<p>The State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) has cleared the 1320 megawatt (MW) coal based thermal power plant at village Alailo in Mahakalpada tahsil. <\/p>\n<p>&#8230; The Tamil Nadu based company is part of SPI Group involved in Steel, Power Generation, Infrastructure Development, Entertainment, Distilleries and associates are involved in food processing. <\/p>\n<p>A patch of land of 1185 acres of non-irrigated land has been identified for the purpose, which is free from habitat and away from Command Area. <\/p>\n<p>However requirement of land is only 750 acres and 60 cusecs of water is available from adjacent Gobari Canal. <\/p>\n<p>Annual coal requirement for the project is 4.17 million ton for 1320 MW. <\/p>\n<p>An annual contribution of 6 paise per unit of the energy sent out from the plant, but not sold in the state to be made by the developer towards Environmental Management Fund. <\/p>\n<p>&#8230; Company has shown interest in setting up agro based industry in the area.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The article is correct.
