{"id":4542,"date":"2011-02-06T02:14:05","date_gmt":"2011-02-06T06:14:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.orissalinks.com\/orissagrowth\/?p=4542"},"modified":"2011-02-06T13:16:42","modified_gmt":"2011-02-06T17:16:42","slug":"major-four-laning-and-infrastructure-building-initiative-in-puri-for-2015-nabakalebar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.orissalinks.com\/orissagrowth\/archives\/4542","title":{"rendered":"Major four laning and infrastructure building initiative in Puri for 2015 Nabakalebar"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Following are excerpts from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tathya.in\/news\/story.asp?sno=4960\" target=\"_self\">a report in tathya.in<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8230; The first preparatory meet for Nabakalebara was chaired by Chief  Minister, was attended by P K Mohapatra, RDC, U N Behera Principal  Secretary Home, Aditya Prasad Padhi Principal Secretary to CM.<\/p>\n<p>&#8230; A Four Lane National Highway is progressing from Bhubaneswar (Rasulgarh)  to Puri (Sipasarubali) with almost half the road will be new  alignment.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Meeting decided to approach National Highway Authority of India(NHAI) to  develop Four Lanning of Puri-Konark and Puri-Satapada Road.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Secondly at least seven roads will be taken up for Four Lanning, which  include Pipili-Konark, Charichhak-Niali-Phulanakhara, Balighai-Gop,  Pipili-Jatnai, Chandanpur-Rameswar, Bira Harekrishnapur-Talabania and  Bira Harekrishnapur-Rahangiria Roads.<\/p>\n<p>&#8230; There is a need for creating more hotel and lodging rooms, for which  appropriate Government land has to be provided to the promoters adopting  transparent procedure.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The following maps show the location of some of the names mentioned above.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"515\" height=\"386\" src=\"http:\/\/www.orissalinks.com\/orissagrowth\/wp-content\/uploads\/image\/puri.GIF\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.orissalinks.com\/orissagrowth\/wp-content\/uploads\/image\/2011-02-05-10-32-59-PM.jpg\" target=\"_self\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"515\" height=\"290\" src=\"http:\/\/www.orissalinks.com\/orissagrowth\/wp-content\/uploads\/image\/2011-02-05-10-32-59-PM.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.orissalinks.com\/orissagrowth\/wp-content\/uploads\/image\/2011-02-05-10-34-59-PM.jpg\" target=\"_self\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"515\" height=\"290\" src=\"http:\/\/www.orissalinks.com\/orissagrowth\/wp-content\/uploads\/image\/2011-02-05-10-34-59-PM.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.orissalinks.com\/orissagrowth\/wp-content\/uploads\/image\/2011-02-05-10-46-50-PM.jpg\" target=\"_self\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"515\" height=\"290\" src=\"http:\/\/www.orissalinks.com\/orissagrowth\/wp-content\/uploads\/image\/2011-02-05-10-46-50-PM.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>One interesting point to note is that Puri district&#8217;s area is 3,479 sq. km, which is comparable to Goa&#8217;s 3,702 sq km. Population wise they are also comparable. Goa&#8217;s population is 1.4 million while Puri district&#8217;s population is about 1.5 million.<\/p>\n<p>Past the Nabakalebar in 2015, the Odisha government may think of building up on the infrastructure and try to benchmark Puri district with respect to Goa.
