I just had a look at Kalikesh’s interview on Mint. In one portion of the interview he says his grandfather was a politician, father is a politician and now he too has joined politics. Yet, it’s really disturbing to note that Balangir continues to be one of the poorest districts in India. How does such a district continue to remain neglected? There are umpteen number of cases of MPs/MLAs going out of their way to bring projects/industries/education institutions (the announcement of the Balangir medical college looks like a bright spot!) to their constituencies but so far none of that seems to have happened for Balangir. I do wish that things change for Balangir.
