  Where is Berhampur region in these demands of Orissa MPs? Except Berhampur city, no other major town of Ganjam,Kandhamal or Gajapati are connected by railways and yet Orissa MPs are parroting the same age old demands. Can’t we include some fresh ones as well (Ex: Coaching terminal at Berhampur, Gopalpur-Talcher railway line, Rajdhani Express via BAMP, Rayagada and Titlagarh, new Shatabdi train between Bhubaneswar-Koraput and express train between Berhampur-Rourkela etc etc)and may be some of them could become a reality. One thing is shocking that the cine-actor turned MP from Berhampur is missing from action and he doesn’t seem to be a horse for a long race. But, anyway people will not allow him to take Berhampur for a ride.

  Dear Abhisek,

  Few things which have been missed listed below.

  1> Berhampur – Sambalpur Railway survey work planned in 2009-10 Railway budget  Not yet started.

  2> Now there is no daily train to Delhi from/via Berhampur. The train 8507 (Vizag- Amritsar) which is running 3 days in a week to be made daily. Also little deviation in the route could be linked Berhampur-Rourkela for the rest 4 days.

  3> 2727- Godavari Express which is running between (Vizag-Hyderabad) to be extended upto Bhubaneswar or at least upto Berhampur.

  About our Actor MP, what to say!!! It is our great blunder to elect a puppet Ollywood actor who is maintaining leap seal approach at Parliament and can not be seen even in public places at Berhampur. Even media is searching the Ollywood actor Mr.Sidhanta Mahapatra but could not trace out as he is busy with film shooting activities. Refer the link below for more details.

  From the day Mr.Sidhant Mahapatro won the M.P., seat from Berhampur Constituency was never seen in City. Once in a Blue Moon he appeared in some function but not regularize. People have many Grievances of this District but they were not getting you (?) What is the reason (?) Incase they found you only in some meeting(Govt.)or getting the information that you are in the City or in some rural belt in some inauguration function. What is wrong to provide your contact numbers to the Public because you are our representative (?)

  Few days back orissabarta camera team found you in Koraput District and you are busy with Film shooting (?)

  Your Berhampur nominee behaving to Media above the rank of M.P. if so what the common public shall accept from you (?) Before election BJD govt. declared Berhampur Municipality to Maha Nagar but what is the changes of this City (?) Mayor Mr.Siba Shankar Das had a great dream to make this City like Capital during his tenure but what about the funds (?) How do you expect that Mayor only can do all the needful without your co-operation (?) Only six months have passed by now. let us see your rest Period(?)

  Abhisek your comment says it all. Politicians will be politicians. It is upto committed citizens to make things happen. Don’t expect too much from politicans and even less from an actor turned MP. Talk of politicians apart, it is difficult to make new demands especially when old demands are not met. Therefore, if Pyari Mohan Mohapatra bats for the Khurda Balangir it is better than not batting at all!

  Vizag people are already very mad that many trains that were terminating in Vizag have been extended. Godavari Express is their pride and there are already 4 trains connecting Bhubaneswar-Berhampur-Hyderabad. So let us not contemplate Godavari’s extension.

  It is basically a give & take policy. When we have extended their Visakha Express (to Hyd) and Prashanti Express (to Bangalore) to BBSR, at least some Delhi bound trains starting from BBSR needs to be extended up to Vizag.

  Since almost all north bound trains(now a days) starting from Puri, the only option is Rajdhani Express (2421-Rajdhani exp to Delhi) which needs to be extended till Vizag as a respect to pull their Godavari Express.

  In addition to 4 trains to Hyderabad (Visakha, Konark, East Coast and Falkanuma) there are at least 4 other trains plying between Vizag and Hyderabad. So extending Godavari Express to Bhubaneswar or Berhampur should not be a Problem.

  I believe this should be mutually possible between two regions as both comes under one umbrella i.e., East Coast Railway.

  The most backward region south and western part of odisha needs good rail connectivity for industrial develop and to fight against poverty, naxal etc. There is no intiate taken yet for gopalpur port connectivy which will start functioning soon.
  About Actor turned MP Mr. Mahapatra has not done any thing significant for Berhampur or Orissa people to prove political skill.
